Raipur:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the people on the occasion of Chhattisgarh Foundation Day, extended greetings to the citizens and remembered former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, saying, “Atal Ji, wherever you are, your dream is being fulfilled. The Chhattisgarh you envisioned is now confident, self-reliant, and reaching new heights of development.”
PM Modi highlighted that under the visionary leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the formation of Chhattisgarh in the year 2000 became a milestone decision for the region’s growth. He said it was not just the creation of a new state but the opening of a new chapter in India’s development story.
The Prime Minister also reflected on the inspiring democratic journey of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly. He recalled that the first assembly session was held in the Jashpur Hall of Raipur’s Raj College. Later, the assembly functioned from another departmental complex until today’s modern, digital, and self-reliant New Assembly Building was inaugurated.
Calling the new structure the “Temple of Democracy”, PM Modi said every corridor of this building reminds us of accountability and every chamber represents the voice of the people.
